Parish Life Committee

The purpose of the Parish Life Committee is to encourage and build a caring, loving community within the church of St. Thomas’.  In fellowship, we develop relationships, and through these, we grow closer to each other and God.

Those active on the Parish Life Committee assist in the promotion of this fellowship by organizing and facilitating many yearly events such as: 5th Sunday covered dish lunches, the Lenten meals, Advent Concert reception, annual picnic, the Epiphany party, the annual meeting luncheon and any new programs that might develop to foster our life together.

5th Sunday Lunches

Every 5th Sunday is marked as a time for the parish to gather after the 10 am service for a bountiful feast!

St. Thomas’ cooks-both male and female -share their most excellent dishes.  The dessert table alone will make you drool! Everyone is eager to be the first to get a piece of Claudia Cox’s caramel cake.

During this time, relationships develop among “old-timers” and “new-comers”. We also have time to share current happenings, future endeavors and celebrations that might occur with parishioners.

New Talent!

BOB LEWANDOWSKI THRILLED THE JULY FIFTH SUNDAY LUNCH CROWD WITH HIS ACCORDIAN PLAYING!  HE PLAYED A VARIETY OF SONGS, DELIGHTING ALL WHO WERE THERE.

WHAT A WONDERFUL ADDITION TO OUR LOVELY LUNCHEON!

Veteran’s Day Recognition

Memorial Day recognition and a birthday celebration for John Bolger were featured parts of the after-church coffee hour on Sunday, November 12th.  Hostess Annie Bolger, assisted by Chef Hamm of Cafe 121 in Sanford, served a lavish buffet to celebrate the day.

The expansive menu include breakfast foods as well as a wide variety of finger foods.  Tall, imposing cakes, military and birthday-themed, anchored a table of assorted delectable desserts.  Parishioners’ tables were attractively decorated with colorful seasonal flowers.  A time of visiting and celebration was enjoyed by all who attended.
