The Pastoral Care Committee of St. Thomas’ is now forming. This group will be charged with identifying the needs of our parish members The chairperson from St. Jude’s Prayer Guild and the chairperson from the Funeral Reception committee wil be represented within this group. Please look for more details to follow in the coming months that will further delineate our role as a support group for the members of St. Thomas’.
St. Jude’s Prayer Guild
St. Jude’s Prayer Guild meets the third Wednesday in each month at 11:00 a.m.
St. Jude is associated with illness, desperate situations and HOPE. He was one of the 12 apostles and was descended from the line of David. Jude’s father was a brother of St. Joseph, and his mother was a sister to the Blessed Virgin Mary, so he was a “double” cousin of Jesus.
Members of the church, who feel they have been blessed with the gift of intercessory prayer, meet to share information about parishioners, family members, and community friends who request supportive prayers because of illness, personal needs, or any other reason. Members of the guild pray daily for those on the prayer list.
In addition, a prayer chain is in place that can be activated quickly in moments of crisis.
